Melanie Walsh

Melanie Walsh is an illustrator and writer. She studied Illustration at The Royal College Of Art and since
leaving she first worked as a textile designer before getting her first book published 1996.

‘Ten Things I Can Do to Change My World’ was published in 2008. It was seen as pioneering in spirit and thought as it engaged very young children into recycling and caring about the environment, something that she personally cares a great deal about.

She followed this up with ‘My Green Day’ in a couple of years later.

All of her recent books deal in subjects of diversity, equality and fairness for all. Seeking out to not only teach the children visually through the use of bold graphic illustrations but also guide them through sometimes complex themes in a very child-friendly way.

She now lives and works in Bath.
