We’re creating a climate event that, for the first time, will speak to all of us. It’s an event about our role in the balance of our planet and nature.
Two years ago the small but mighty team that’s hosting the It’s Time event started Ecologi – a low cost subscription service that can help restore the planet by planting trees, protecting nature and funding climate solutions. Today, now planting over 600k trees a month and rapidly rising we’ve never been more certain about the power of collective action.
Not long after the breakout of COVID-19, the major climate conference, COP26, was postponed for 12 months. Given that every moment of every day matters in the fight to stabilise our planet, the Ecologi team saw an opportunity to use their time and contacts put something in its place. But we didn’t want more of the same, we wanted something that’s inclusive, free for everyone, without sponsors or corporate roadshows. We wanted an event that’s for us.
With just four months to put the event together, we couldn’t be more proud. Over 100 speakers from grassroots organisations, activists, artists, innovators, kids, scientists, comedians and even a royal patron all giving their time free of charge.
We’ve woven 25 climate actions into each talk and discussion – at the end of this we want to have inspired you to start (or bolster) your climate journey.
The reality is, we do have to change. Our habits are killing our planet. The power is in our hands, because when we, the people, change – and demand change – then big business and governments will follow.
It’s Time – A Festival of Climate Action is a free, digital, two day event on November 17-18th 2020. Proudly in collaboration with WWF. Hosted by Cel and Basma with over 100 participants.
